Dubai is the international group trip that almost plans itself: short flight, English everywhere, and a clear menu of things to do. The trick is layering — one skyline day, one desert day, one beach/marina day, one old-Dubai day — and not just spending the whole trip in malls.

Quick facts
- Fly into
- DXB or DWC
- Visa (India)
- 30 / 60 day tourist visa, easy to apply online
- Get around
- Metro + Careem; rent a car for 1 desert day
- Stay area
- Downtown, Marina, or JBR
Pick a base and stay there
Downtown puts you at Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall but is dead at night. Marina/JBR is walkable, lively, beach-adjacent. Business Bay is the value pick — between Downtown and Marina with cheaper apartments. For a group of 6+, a serviced apartment (Damac, JA, or Marriott Executive) beats two hotel rooms.
Beyond the obvious checklist
Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Fountains — yes, do them once, on day one, then move on. The trip gets memorable when you add: a desert safari with overnight camp, Al Seef and the Bur Dubai souks, a dhow cruise at Dubai Creek (skip the marina cruise — Creek is better), and a half-day at Hatta if your group wants kayaking and mountains.
- Skyline day: Burj Khalifa at sunset (book At The Top SKY, not just 124).
- Desert day: private 4×4 + dune dinner camp, not a shared bus tour.
- Old Dubai: abra crossing, gold and spice souks, lunch at Arabian Tea House.
- Adventure pick: Hatta kayak + dam viewpoint, full day.
Brunch is the format
Friday/Saturday brunch is a Dubai sport. For groups, book early at Bubbalicious (Westin), Saffron (Atlantis), or the more chill Bread Street Kitchen brunch. Expect 3 – 4 hours; plan a low-key evening after.
Money and logistics
Dubai is card-friendly to a fault. Get a Nol card for the metro on day 1 — splits cleaner than Careem for short hops. Most attractions are cheaper booked online via the official site or Klook. Don't pay for VIP queue skips at Burj — the standard timed entry works fine if you book ahead.

Splitting costs in Dubai
- Attractions: pre-book the group together via Klook — pricing per head, easy to log.
- Desert safaris are billed per person — don't pool them into the villa total.
- One person handles Careem for the trip and gets reimbursed via Collabtrip at the end.
